I was pleased to join President Preckwinkle, my colleagues on the Cook County Board, our Bureau of Economic Development, and our pilot partners as we announced the $42 million Cook County Promise Pilot program. Through an application process, selected agencies will administer $500 monthly payments to over 3,000 Cook County households for 24 months. As the nation’s largest publicly funded guaranteed income pilot program, the Cook County Promise Pilot will help our neighbors recover from Covid-related economic instability by stimulating our local economy as dollars from this program will flow directly throughout our neighborhood businesses.
